Bassett Island Bufflehead - 10" long, glass eyes, separate stand included, distressed patina. $225.00 (Item #67) DISCONTINUED
On Cape Cod, Bassett's Island protects both migrating wildfowl and graceful sailboats in Red Brook Harbor from the fury of the famed "Buzzards Bay Chop." Will made this little bufflehead to meet the conditions in the bay. The keel of this bufflehead is similar to those made by Captain Fabens of Marblehead, who used them on his sea duck decoys to steady them and to make them self-righting in rough water. Will moors his sailboat, "Whimbrel" in the harbor and uses it as a ducking camp during the fall.

1. Loon - 22-1/2" long, glass eyes, fancy wing-tip carving, extra fancy paint and distressed patina. $250.00 (item #77) DISCONTINUED
This unique loon decoy is entirely Will's design. "I've carved and drawn a bunch of them in the past year/". says Will, "but I like this hollering one the best.". Will puts a subtle twist in the neck. "That's how you see'em a lot, turning to keep an eyes on you, if you're too close."

Mallards

Designed for the special requirements of river hunting, Will has made and used decoys like these for many years. Because Assabet River ducks are wary, Will's working decoys usually have varied head positions to suggest movement and to look more convincing. The swimmer type especially realistic when anchored in a lazy current to generate appealing wake.
