FISH CARVINGS BY WILL. "When I was four years old, my father often took me down to the Assabet River and rented row boats from Roger Gay on Park Street. He would plug for bass and pickerels and set me up with worms for bluegills. Later he taught me to tie and cast flies, and I eventually became an ardent trout and salmon fishermen.
During my years as a pharmacist, I bought a boat and did a lot of fishing for stripers and blues along the south shore of Cape Cod, mostly Seconessett, Halfmoon and L'hommadieu Shoals, Woods Hole and Vineyard Sound. My wife Anne often accompanied me, and we learned a little piloting and navigating which came in handy later when we bought our family sailboat, "Whimbrel".

Bulefish ... are strong,, pugnacious, and richly colored. Ferocious "Choppers" feed all day and all night. While making their cyclical comeback during the mid sixties, bluefish. populations spilled around Cape Cod and started to be caught on Massachusetts's north shore. Suddenly fisherman suffering cuts from razor sharp bluefish teeth. created a rapid increase in emergency room visits at local hospitals. Will has captured these traits in his toothy version of this very game fish.
