Joe Lincoln Canada Quarter Goose

Joe Lincoln Canada Quarter Goose 14.5" long, lightly distressed. $190.00 (Item #45) DISCONTINUED

Old-time carvers weren't isolated. They communicated with each other, and often traveled over road and water to visit and exchange ideas. Lincoln reputedly advised Crowell of the commercial potential of carved miniatures. According to the catalog, "A Songless Aviary," by Brian Cullity, curator at Heritage Plantation on Cape Cod, Elmer Crowell and Lincoln were close friends of Fred Gardner, a fellow hunter and sometime carver. Fred visited both men often, and no doubt, carried news between them. Joe called his miniatures "toys," never dreaming how valuable they would become. Will has reproduced this quarter-size goose "toy" from one in a friend's collection.
